This short course, named in honor of ranching enthusiast David McKnight, is a critical educational initiative designed to help new and inexperienced landowners understand the fundamentals of natural resource management. Through applied learning and foundational information, the program empowers participants to make financially sound decisions, optimize land productivity, and maximize long-term land stewardship. By putting the pieces together, landowners gain practical knowledge they can take back to their piece of Texas and apply with confidence.

Starting in October 2010, this interdisciplinary short course is held twice a year and plays an important role in successful ranch management, natural resource stewardship, and sustainable livestock and wildlife management.

This intensive 4.5-day course begins Monday after lunch, so you have time to get to town and check in. We conclude Friday at noon and wish you well on your way home and new adventure!

Your registration includes a light breakfast and lunch on full days and supper each evening.

Each participant will gain access to a specially curated compilation of 100+ resources, as well as the contact information for each subject specialist
