This program serves as a prerequisite for application to become a TRAVIS COUNTY Master Gardener.

Note: Credit is NOT TRANSFERABLE to other county Master Gardener Volunteer Programs.

Program Details

We will cover the basics of horticulture science, specifically tailored to Central Texas Gardeners. 

Educational content is pre-recorded and available to view at any time, but viewing should be completed at a minimum prior to joining the live weekly Q&A session at 2 PM each Thursday. 

Weekly Q&A sessions will be recorded and made available for later viewing. Additional sessions may be added to the schedule, and if so, they will be completely optional.

Three optional in-person workshops will be offered, to be held at the Travis County Extension Office.

Completion Requirements

Documented course participation (complete weekly quizzes, program evaluations, etc.) and a passing grade (70%) on the final exam are required to apply for Travis County Master Gardener Intern Training AND to be awarded the course completion certificate.

Intention to apply to become a Travis County Master Gardener Intern is preferred, but not mandatory
