What You'll Learn

Presentations will focus on implementing green infrastructure at every scale:

Site-scale practices: Vegetated swales, rain gardens, green roofs, pervious pavement, and rainwater harvesting.

Mid-scale practices: This includes open vegetated swales, dry or wet basins (including retrofitted basins with floating wetlands), and stormwater wetlands that control flooding, improve water quality, create habitat, and provide community education and recreate.

Larger-scale practices: Preserving, restoring, or conserving large tracts of undeveloped land (prairies, wetlands, corridors) to deliver ecosystem services that smaller-scale projects cannot replicate.

Learn how these strategies improve water quality, reduce flooding, enhance wildlife habitat, and boost community resilience.

Local elected officials, municipal and county staff, institutional landowners, and facilities managers — anyone involved in community planning, development, or environmental management.
