2025 Pesticide Applicator Training for Public Health

Training is 8 a.m-5 p.m on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and 8 a.m. - noon on Thursdays at all locations.

About the Training

The objective of this project is to develop and implement a training program that works toward certification for noncommercial political subdivision pesticide applicators responsible for vector borne diseases in Texas.

Educational training program for employees of political subdivisions involved in mosquito control.

Program topic areas will correspond to federal and state laws and regulations as mandated by licensing authority to include:

• Federal laws
• State laws
• Toxicology
• Exposure
• Residues
• Pesticide labels
• Environmental concerns
• Pesticide formulations
• Principles of safety

and other topics as necessary to prepare participants for state licensing exams.

Registration and Attendance Notes

• Registration includes breakfast and lunch for days 1 and 2 only. 
• Manuals and all preparation for testing will be provided.
• Attendance is mandatory both days.
• Attendees must work for a political subdivision of the state of Texas or a federal agency operating in Texas.
