Fish Management Strategies & Removing Unwanted Fish Species from Your Pond
Most pond owners believe that stocking their pond is 90% of the work and after that the population will self-regulate. However, stocking is only 10% of the work and management of the existing fishery is 90% of the toil to ensure your specific fishery goals are met.
This webinar will explore fish management strategies for many common fish scenarios including maximum fish harvest, trophy bass, trophy bluegill/sunfish, trophy catfish, and black crappie management options. We will also explore methods to thin out populations of unwanted fish species as complete eradication of any single species is nearly impossible once it is in your pond, but we will also discuss the few “nuclear” management options available to eradicate an undesired fish species from your pond. The best management option is of course prevention from allowing an undesired fish species from entering your pond, and fish exclusion methods will also be discussed.
There will be a 30-minute Q&A session at the conclusion of the webinar.
