This course is designed to prepare individuals licensing under the Texas Department of Agriculture Public Health (Vector) Control category. The public health pest control (vector control) category is for applicators who are an employee of, or an independent contractor for, a federal, state, county, city, mosquito or vector control district or other political subdivision, or a person working under the direct supervision of one.
The course will cover adult and larval mosquito identification, surveillance, and control, as well as instruction on other pests such as rodents, fleas, and filth flies important to public health. It is useful for prospective applicators to review material before testing in the public health category.
The course enrollment fee includes the required category training manual Public Health Pest Control (B-5071), a $45 value, and online instruction. The manual will be shipped via Fed Ex (3-5 day ground) within 2-3 business days of registration.
