***AN APPLICATOR CANNOT RETRAIN OR RETEST UNTIL 1 YEAR AFTER THE EXPIRATION OF THEIR OLD LICENSE***

This course is designed for people in Texas who wish to obtain a Private Pesticide Applicator License with the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA).  Along with access to the on-line course, you will also receive the Texas Private Applicator Manual (B-1648) as well as the laws and regulations manual (B-5056), shipped via Fed Ex (3-5 day ground) within 2-3 business days of registration.

Upon successful completion of the course you will be able to print an electronic version of the D-1411 to send to the TDA along with your application for licensing.

A private pesticide applicator is someone who uses or supervises the use of restricted-use or state-limited-use pesticides or regulated herbicides to produce an agricultural commodity on:

  •     Personally owned property
  •     Rented property
  •     Property owned by his or her employer
  •     Property under his or her general control or
  •     The property of another person if applied without compensation, other than the trading of personal services between producers of agricultural commodities.

An agricultural commodity is a plant or animal grown for sale, lease, barter, feed or human consumption and animals raised for farm or ranch work. No license is required to apply general-use pesticides to produce agricultural commodities.

Tips for accessing Online Moodle Courses

  • After registration through Conference Services, individuals will receive an email with specific instructions for accessing this course. THESE INSTRUCTIONS MUST BE FOLLOWED EXACTLY.
  • Before individuals can join course they MUST create login ID at campus.extension.org. This is where you will access the online course materials.
  • At campus.extension.org the AES online courses can be found under the category “Pest Management”.  You can also use the search function to find the specific course you registered for.
  • The enrollment key (password) is provided in email from Conference Services. You will be prompted to enter the enrollment key.
  • There is a one year time limit on the courses. Individuals can take the course at their own pace, however, they cannot receive a Certificate of Completion until they have met all course requirements.

Cancellation/Refund Policy

If a cancellation becomes necessary, please send notification to agriliferegister@tamu.edu. Cancellations must be done before a course is started to receive refund minus a $25 administrative fee.
