This educational program is designed for the hobbyist interest in aquaponics, the homeowner interested in raising fish or in aquaponics, or a small-farm operation interested in starting a commercial system.
Dr. Todd Sink (AgriLife Extension Fisheries and Wildlife Specialist) and Dr. Joe Masabni (AgriLife Extension Small-Acreage Vegetable Specialist) will lead this day long program and cover topics on introduction to aquaponics, aquatic species selection, basic fish culture requirements, and fish health & nutrition.
Hands-on activities will include measurements of pH, dissolved oxygen, alkalinity, and hardness. Also, fish load and growth calculation will be demonstrated.
