We invite you to attend the 2020 Junior Master Gardener National Leader Training!
The JMG Program mission is growing good kids by igniting a passion for learning, success, & service through a unique gardening education. This training conference is designed to take you from novice educator to an empowered leader and trainer who can introduce & grow youth gardening into your school/local community!
Through this training program, participants will:
NEW this YEAR: Through concurrent sessions, teachers, volunteers, school nutritionists, Extension staff, SNAP educators, administrators & state and national JMG coordinators of successful JMG and youth garden programs will share best practices, motivating highlights and reports from the field.
A capstone of the conference will Texas Fiesta Networking Dinner & a private tour of the new Texas A&M Gardens. This garden features a vineyard, historical themed gardens, vegetable gardens, fruit orchard, bird/butterfly gardens, food/fiber field, earth kind gardens, rain gardens and capture, kitchen gardens, technology apps in the garden, and so much more!
Conference attendees will interact with three Junior Master Gardener programs who met throughout the year in the TAMU Gardens. Attendees will have the opportunity to interact with the students, the group leaders and view projects students were a part of. We’ll celebrate the students as they receive their JMG certifications and are presented their individual certificates of completion!
The 2020 Junior Master Gardener National Leader Training conference will be held at the new Texas A&M Hotel and Conference Center. In the heart of the Texas A&M campus, you will enjoy the beautiful new facility, exquisite rooms, and lovely dining options.
Conference registration includes JMG/LGEG Marketing Resources, hotel parking, daily breakfast, Monday/Tuesday lunch & Tuesday Texas Fiesta Networking Dinner & Private Tour of the Texas A&M Gardens & beverages/snacks throughout training conference.
