Pest Category Training

This 8 hour course is designed to satisfy the Apprentice Training Requirements as specified in Section 7.132 (i) (2) “8 hours of classroom training in each category in which the Apprentice is to provide pest control services”.  In addition, the course can be used to prepare for the Structural Pest Control Pest category examination. The class is from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. with an hour lunch (lunch is not provided). The $150 course fee includes the required category training manual, Pest Category (AES-5074), a $35 value, and instruction from experienced Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service trainer, Dr. Brittny Jones.

In Person Training

  • The category training manual will be given to In Person Training registrants at the training.
  • There will be a 1 hour lunch break (lunch not provided).
  • The In Person Training is limited to 10 registrants. If maximum capacity has been met and you wish to be added to a waiting list, please email with the registrant's name, company name, address (city, state, zip code) and phone number. Should space become available, you will be contacted by email.

Virtual Training

  • Instructions to access the training will be emailed to Virtual Training registrants approxinmately 1 week before the training.
  • The category training manuals will be mailed to Virtual Training registrants via FedEx, approximately 1 week before the training. Please provide a physical address for shipping. Upon shipment, Virtual Training registrants will be emailed the tracking information.

Please contact the Texas Department of Agriculture Structural Pest Control Service at 866-918-4481 to begin your exam registration.  Applicants must be pre-qualified by TDA prior to registering to take examinations with PSI Services.

Cancellation/Refund Policy

If a cancellation becomes necessary, please send notification to  Cancellations received no later than July 28, 2021 will be issued a $125 refund. If study materials have already been shipped, an $80 refund will be issued. Transfer of class is available at no additional charge for the first transfer. Additional transfers will cost the full amount of the training registration fee.
