Join us for a how-to educational program on stubborn aquatic plants commonly found in Texas ponds. This presentation will mainly focus on the identification of some of the most hard to manage floating and submerged aquatic plant species, including duckweed, watermeal, and watermilfoil species. Once identified, we will briefly discuss their biology and how that plays a role in the pond's ecosystem and management. Specific management strategies, including mechanical, biological, and chemical options, when applicable, will be covered for each grouping. Finally, we will discuss the timing of treatments and common mistakes in relation to management.
