Pest management is a technical pursuit. It requires the control of insects and other arthropods, as well as vertebrate pests in residences, commercial and industrial property, municipal buildings, schools, and in outdoor environments where people live, work, and play. It requires education, training and experience in order to accomplish this control in an effective, economically sound, and environmentally safe manner. In Texas, licensing and certification to accomplish this work requires education and training in the Pest Control Category (SPCS). The pest management specialist or professional must also pass an exam administered by the Structural Pest Control Service, a division of the Texas Department of Agriculture. This on-line training module has been prepared to assist you in accomplishing these goals.
